My little girl is blossoming. We didn’t think about it at the time, but looking back at the pictures, when we first got her, Roxy didn’t smile that much. She was confused by what was going on around her. She understood that we were her Mama and Baba but living out of a hotel definitely wasn’t ideal because we moved from Wuhan to Guangzhou and nothing was familiar to her. She was very quiet around strangers and withdrawn. But all that changed after we got home and got Roxy into a routine. Now, Roxy always has a smile on her face. She likes to give hugs and kisses. She will run to greet our friends and her little friends whenever we hang out. She will reach out to hug someone goodbye. Roxy eats with great appetite and loves chicken, rice, soups, banana, apple, any meats, and Jamba Juice. Roxy has grown an inch and a half since we got her and gained 5 lbs. She loves to dance to music and play with musical toys and toys that talk. She loves going to the park and going down the slides and swinging on the swings. She can unlock my iPhone, scroll to the screen she wants and play a kid’s game, or open Netflix and go to My Little Pony. She recently said “I love you Mama, I love you Baba!” and our hearts almost burst with happiness.
Roxy lives a pretty full life for a 2 year old girl. We have her classes at MyGym, a wonderful gym for toddlers. She gets to play on equipment, and play in the balls, jump on the trampoline, go down the slides, and swing on the swings. I highly recommend it if you have one near you. We have a playgroup that meets once a week. We teach our kids educational lessons, have a snack, and an activity. I have a Mom’s Group Fellowship I attend and we’re allowed to bring our kids. So I enjoy going through studies and being encouraged by other moms walking with the Lord and Roxy enjoys playing with her friends. The City of Elk Grove is known for their awesome parks. I seriously have never seen so many cool parks in one area. Now that the weather is hot, the water spray grounds are open at many of the parks. Roxy really enjoyed going to the water spray ground for the first time. We have frequent playdates with our friends and their kids. During the week we often visit my parent’s home and usually have dinner with my parents sometime on the weekend. My heart is content because my little girl is happy and for the most part healthy. We’re still praying about a few health issues but I know God will guide us to make the right decisions.
I hope that all of you are doing well and enjoying your summer.
XOXO Jax
