I really wish I could post a picture of my daughter already. But there is no way I’m doing anything that will jeopardize this adoption. I feel like my husband Kenny and I are nesting. We had fun picking out a care package for our daughter. This really awesome company called Red Thread ships adoption care packages to the orphanages in China. It’s awesome for adoptive parents because the products are actually shipped within China. They have an awesome relationship with the orphanages and will even translate letters and get updates and pictures of your child for you, if possible.
It’s hard to express how much we love our daughter already. She probably doesn’t even know what the word love means. But I want her, and her foster parents, and the orphanage, and everyone to know that we love her very much.
Here is the letter we wrote our daughter and her foster parents. I’m posting it in English and Chinese. I hope you enjoy reading it and checking out the pictures of the care package. Yes, I probably went a little overboard. =P
Wu Lin Qiao,
We are so happy that you will be our daughter. From the first time we saw your picture, we knew that we loved you and wanted to be your family. We are looking forward to bringing you home. No matter what has happened in your life so far or what your needs are, we promise to always be there to love you, to make you happy, and to help you succeed and fulfill your potential in the future. We live in the United States in Northern California in a city called Elk Grove which is about an hour a half from San Francisco. We are also Chinese. You will be raised in America but we will also make sure to honor Chinese values and culture in our family. Baba is a doctor so we will be able to help you with any medical needs. Mama has her own business working from home and will be taking care of you when we bring you home.
We pray that you will be well taken care of and healthy until we come to China to get you. We think of you every single day and are busy putting together your room, buying you everything you will need, and making plans for your future. Words cannot even express how beautiful we think you are, how much we love you, and how grateful we are that you will be our daughter. We love you sweetheart!

To Our Daughter’s Foster Parents,
Thank you so much for all that you are doing for our daughter. Please enjoy the tea, the mooncakes, and cake we are sending in gratitude. We cannot thank you enough. We promise we will love Wu Lin Qiao and give her a good life and family. We wish you many blessings.
