Update: Roxy the Dancer & the Daredevil
We wanted to get out of Sac so we decided to hit up SF for a bit. We were actually there about 28 hours but it was a great little trip. In short, we met up with some friends for dinner at Park Chow’s, crashed with some good friends, met up with some friends at Tony’s Napolitana Pizza, took Roxy for her first climbing experience at Dogpatch Boulders with my sister Ali, hit up a birthday party at Gymtowne Gymnastics, and ate dinner with my parents and sister at Koi Palace. Enjoy the video of Roxy dancing Gangnam Style and the pic of us at Dogpatch Boulders.
Sometime during this brief getaway trip to SF, I realized that I walked into our adoption with a few assumptions about what Roxy would be like. And I realized that Roxy blew most of these assumptions to pieces. I assumed Roxy would be reserved. She’s extroverted. I assumed she would take some time getting accustomed to American food. She’s gained 3 lbs. I didn’t expect her to be super independent or adventurous. She likes to feed and dress herself, has figured out how to unlock all the doors in our house, and likes going down the big slides.
As I type this blog entry right now, Roxy is asleep by my side. Roxy, is an extroverted, feisty, independent, 2 year old who loves to dance to music, jump down the slides, gobble down her food, and never takes naps. I’ll admit I still have moments where I look at her and wonder how on earth did I get to be her Mama. I also wonder how the heck I’m going to raise her. Roxy, I love and embrace who you are, and I can’t wait to see what you’re going to be. A dancer, a daredevil, it’s all good baby girl.
