I always come to Aloha Mixed Plate when I visit Maui. I like this place even though you usually have to wait for a table. Aloha Mixed Plate has reasonably priced, good quality Hawaiian food.
I always get the Kahlua Pork and Cabbage. I like it because the pork is salty but not too salty. The cabbage and pork go well with the rice and macaroni salad. I always get a side of Lomi Lomi salmon too. The last time I went I also ordered a Sassy Wahine which is a mango margarita with strawberry swirl and li hing mui on the rim. This was fabulous. My husband had the Dirty Banana which had rum, pineapple/orange/guava juice, and banana puree. It was pretty good as well but I preferred my Sassy Wahine.
This is a busy restaurant so if you check this place out know that you will likely have to wait for a table, and that the customer service isn’t necessary super attentive. That being said, the customer service isn’t terrible, but it’s honestly about what you’d expect for a busy and popular restaurant. The last time I went, I had to flag my waiter a few times. But he was really nice overall and cheerfully took pictures of us with our food. My main beef with this place is just that the seating is all outside so your food is free game for any flies that happen to be around. You have to constantly shoo the flies away from your food.
Overall, I would recommend checking this plate out if you want some reasonably priced Hawaiian fare. Park at Lahaina Cannery Mall and walk to the back. Just don’t come here if you’re in a hurry or hate sitting outside and you’ll be fine.
