Firehouse – Sacramento, CA – Great Food, Intimate Vintage Setting
Pork tenderloin wrapped with pancetta and pan roasted with a sherry peppercorn cream and chevre scallion mashed potatoes
Pan-fried plum wine miso glazed salmon with red rice in coconut lemongrass sauce
I went with my family here for Dine Downtown Sacramento. We had a very nice dinner with good food and customer service.
My husband and I ordered the following:
Mixed Greens with apples, blue cheese, spiced walnuts, and shallot cider viniagrette
Dungeness Crab, Potato, and leek bisque
Pork tenderloin wrapped with pancetta and pan roasted withe sherry peppercorn cream and chevre scallion mashed potatoes

Chocolate mouse torte with rich chocolate cake, belgian chocolate mouse, and dark chocolate ganache
Mango marbled cheesecake in a graham cracker crust with mango salsa on top
The crab, potato, leek bisque was awesome! It was so flavorful and creamy. I actually was scraping the bowl with bits of bread so that none of it went to waste! The mixed greens was very good but nothing extraordinary. I did love the blue cheese and the dressing it came with. I’m not even a pork person and the pork tenderloin was great. It was nice, meaty, and tender and the mashed potatoes it came with were creamy and delicious. The salmon was also very tender. I was a little worried that the coconut miso plum mix wouldn’t work. It was sweet but the whole salmon dish went together well. It vaguely reminded me of some Thai dishes I have had with coconut milk in the sauce. If I had to pick just one appetizer and one entree, I would go with the crab, potato, and leek bisque and the pork tenderloin.
The chocolate mouse torte was rich and decadent. It was so rich, I honestly couldn’t finish it. The mango marbled cheesecake was heaven in itself. If you like cheesecake and mangos, you can’t go wrong with this dessert.
My family and I liked the intimate, vintage setting. It’s in an old building in Old Sac with a lot of history (as evidenced by the mahogany panels and the full sized portraits on the wall). Overall, Firehouse is a great place for an upscale meal in Sacramento. I left happy and full and will likely be back.
