I’ve learned very quickly in my life that no matter what I do there will always be critics. Most recently, I’m noticing an interesting thing when news of our adoption gets out. People are either happy for us, or openly critical, or they profess to be happy for us while criticizing us behind our backs. We’re adopting a child, a child that was abandoned by her birth parents. Yes, we know it won’t be easy. Yes, we have prayed about it for years and thought this through. I don’t really have the time to deal with petty criticisms or drama. Just support us please. We know we are doing what God wants us to do. It’s actually in the bible.
I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him.
1 Samuel 1:27
I will not leave you as orphans. I will come to you.
John 14:18
Whoever receives a little child in my name receives me.
Matthew 18:5
Do not be afraid for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.
Isaiah 43:5
Aren’t those powerful words? Thank you God for answering our prayers. Thank you God for sending our daughter into our lives. I’ve heard people say that she is lucky to get us as parents. I think it’s the other way around. I think that we are lucky to have her for a daughter and that she will be a blessing in our lives. I have a daughter waiting for me in China and my primary focus now is pushing through the adoption paperwork as quickly as possible so that Kenny and I can fly to China as soon as possible and bring her home. So this is an open statement to all that know me and Kenny. Please support our adoption if you wish to stay in our lives. Please accept our daughter as a part of our family, our lives, our community, and our church family.
I wish to thank all those who have supported us through this adoption process, most importantly, the families who have adopted other children from China who have proven to be such a blessing and a valuable resource and undying source of support for me and Kenny. There have also been some friends and some people from our church who have championed our adoption from the start. Thank you to those who have supported us in our quest to adopt.
Please pray with us and for us. God please find a way to help Kenny and I get to China to adopt our daughter as soon as possible. We know you’ve got this Father. Thank you for your goodness and mercy.
Amen
