Sometimes life can be a whirlwind with family, writing and blogging, and unexpected circumstances, so how better to ease the craziness of life than with food! Gear up for this food review of the delicious offerings from Mixed Rice and Noodle Bar that rocked my and my family’s taste buds! Get ready to drool!
Atmosphere
Sleek and clean are the descriptors that come to mind when walking into this Asian Korean fusion restaurant with an awesome concept. Once I made my way over to the counter and saw the display of fresh, neatly ordered ingredients, I was ready to mix my bowls and order items from the menu for my little family! We were dying to sit down and indulge!
Menu
We ordered 5 dishes, and when they arrived, wow! The portions and options were perfect for the four of us. We ordered the musubi fried rice, fire mix bowl, spicy wings, spicy pork banh mi, and bulgogi fries.
I ordered the musubi fried rice more for my daughters than for me and my husband. The well seasoned fried rice with musubi (fried SPAM) was the perfect blend for them. Roxy loved it!
The fire mix bowl was fire! On a meter of spice, though the spicy pork itself wasn’t at a spice level too heavy for me, when mixed with miso peppers, wow! I liked the kick, though! The combination of rice, kimchi, miso peppers, mixed vegetables, cucumber kimchi, and seasoned radish was a melding of flavors that complimented each other well. If you’re not a fan of spice, this isn’t the bowl for you. But if you are, you’ll appreciate this homemade concoction, for sure!
A traditional banh mi includes a protein, pickled vegetables, and cilantro on a thicker bread. Mixed Rice and Noodle Bar’s banh mi sandwiches are no different, except for the addition of their deliciously flavored meats and the style of bread they use. The taste is refreshingly traditional and yet reminiscent enough of an American sandwich that it is the definition of fusion! My entire family enjoyed our banh mi option!
The spicy wings had just the right amount of batter to capture the spicy flavoring and was a delectable treat in between bites of the fire mix and banh mi!
Last up, the bulgolgi fries! Ordering these yummy fries is a constant for our family! A bed of fries topped with bulbolgi (marinated beef), tasty sauces, and green onions to finish is a winner for me! The melding of rich fusion flavors is why we won’t ever stop ordering this item for our family whenever we visit!
Overall
I could describe the tastiness and sing praises of the food options offered at this gem of a restaurant all day, but all I’ll say is this: Like me, grab your family and go!
The only regret you’ll have is not filling your stomachs with what they’ve been craving for!
Go and come back to tell me how much you loved it too!
