Koloa Zipline – Koloa, Kauai in Hawaii – Awesome Ziplines & Guides!!

I’ve been meaning to do this review for a month now. Last month, we went to Kauai with some close friends and had an awesome time. (More pics to come later.) Zipling at Koloa Zipline was one of the highlights for our trip. It was freaking awesome!
This was not my first time ziplining. In fact, Kenny and I went ziplining during our honeymoon at this place in Princeville in Kauai. Koloa Zipline is much better. For starters, the guides at Koloa Zipline are awesome. They are friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and really know how to make sure their customers have a good time. I did 2 tours with Koloa Zipline and both were awesome. I’d like to extend a personal shout out to my guides during my 1st tour Harry and Chocolate, as well as my guides during my 2nd ziplining tour, Harry (again), Peanut, and Elijah.
The 8 ziplines vary in length, how high they are, and how thrilling the ride is. There is a good mix of ziplines. The longest is over half a mile long! Some of them skim over water or get close to the tops of trees. There are a lot of breathtaking views that simply cannot be described. It takes around 3 to 4 hours and they provide you with water and snacks in the middle.
I will never forget my last run on my 1st tour at Koloa Zipline. They were worried about me making it all the way across the zipline since I have a low body weight. So Chocolate calmed my fears and rode tandem with me in front of him “like a kangaroo baby”. Thank you Chocolate for calming my fears and ensuring that I had a fun last ride during my 1st tour. Kenny enjoyed using the “flyin’ Kaua’ian” harness that allowed him to fly face first from a hanging position. I couldn’t do that because I didn’t meet the minimum weight requirement but I was happy to sit and enjoy the ride.
I have a few tips for ziplining. For guys, I suggest wearing long shorts. For women, I suggest wearing capris. Don’t wear short shorts or your legs will get caught in the straps. I also suggest getting Croakies or those cords to prevent your sunglasses from falling (it will hang around your neck if your sunglasses fall). Definitely wear tennis shoes or Keens sandals. Also, make sure you have straps and cords to prevent you from dropping your phone or camera. You will want to have a camera but the movement may cause you to drop something so just be careful.
I have no reservations whatsoever about recommending Koloa Zipline. If you vacation in Kauai, this is a “must do.” I will definitely be back to Koloa Zipline the next time I am in Kauai. If you go and see Harry, Chocolate, Mrs. Chocolate, Peanut, and Elijah, please tell them Little Jax (Jackie) from California who ziplined in June 2016 says wassup. Just thinking about Koloa Zipline makes me smile. Jax Approved!
