With the craziness of life, it can be a challenge to get delicious meals on the table. While pizza is an easy “go-to” I don’t love the idea of giving my kids greasy slices from chains. However, then I found out about Majka! Suddenly dinners became much easier.
Experience
The way that Majka works is a bit different than many restaurants. For one thing, they do not have a storefront. They sell their food through a window in the kitchen they make all the food. I ordered my pie on Tuesday evening, with the option of getting dinner on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Once my day was selected, the pizza of the day appeared. The menu changes each day, so I needed to make sure I actually wanted the pizza offered on the day I selected. Luckily I did, and I placed my order. Once Thursday came, I drove downtown and picked up the pizza. The pie was ready to go and the pickup was fast. This was really nice because pickups can be hard with little kids. The pie was still hot when we got home and was ready to be served!
The Pizza
The pizza that my day was assigned to was the roasted fingerling potato and Corno di toro peppers, mozzarella, feta, with cilantro. Yes, there was no meat! All of Majka’s pizzas are vegetarian. I’ll admit that as a major carnivore, I was a bit skeptical about a pizza with no meat, but I was blown away! The ingredients were extremely fresh (like picked out of the garden and put on the pizza fresh), The potatoes were soft, and the herbs were fragrant. The crust was spongey and well salted. It did not get soggy on the way home, which was a blessing! Olive oil was used instead of the normal grease, which made the pizza’s overall flavor highly enhanced. I loved the fact that there were so many veggies. The soft peppers brought a needed sweetness to the pie. I loved the fact that both my girls ate the vegetables and had no complaints.
Overall
My whole family loved this place. The ingredients were fresh, the service was fast, and the food was delicious. If they can convince my meat-eating family to enjoy something vegetarian, then they can do it to anyone! Give this place a try, I promise you will not be disappointed.
