I’m a carnivore. I like steak. My favorite cut of steak is ribeye. My favorite ribeye is from Morton’s in Sacramento.
I’ve been going to Morton’s with my family for years. But recently I had such an awesome and joyful experience that I decided to write about it online. I recently celebrated my birthday at Morton’s. We had 13 people in a private room. We were not an easy table. We had 4 kids and one of them was a very loud and demanding baby, and we kept them going back and forth with all our requests.
Rather than talk about what everyone at the table ordered, I’m going to tell you what my favorite menu items are. My fav is the Cajun Ribeye. It’s juicy, tender, and flavorful. They marinate it for 2 days before grilling it and serving it to you. If you have any leftovers, the Cajun Ribeye is also great the next day. While Morton’s is known as a steak restaurant, I have to say, their Oysters Rockfeller rock my world. They are baked to perfection and you can honestly just tell your waiter how many you want and they will make it for you. Most people order the Creamed Spinach as a side accompaniment and I think it’s a good choice. I personally really like the Creamed Corn and the Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes. The Creamed Corn is just a little bit creamy and the Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes are creamy and so flavorful you won’t even miss the gravy. My daughter Roxy loves the Lobster Mac N Cheese and so do I. It goes really fast whenever we order it. I confess, I usually go fishing for the little bits of lobster. I’m not an escargot person but my friends who ordered it assured me the Escargot was stellar. For dessert, I love the Keylime Pie. It’s tangy and perfect if you want a light dessert. The Chocolate Souffle is also an excellent choice. It’s decadent and richly satisfying.
The customer service at Morton’s is excellent. I have always found my servers at Morton’s to be on point. The night of my birthday, we were served by two individuals who deserve to be commended. Valerie and Mark really went above and beyond to give us excellent service. They were friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and able to engage with us in a positive manner that made my birthday dinner just very pleasant. I honestly don’t know how they did it because we weren’t an easy table to serve. We were loud and kept them running back and forth with our requests, but they managed to give us awesome service and didn’t make a single mistake. Not one.
Morton’s is perfect for a family dinner, a date night, a special occasion or just anytime you want to go a top quality restaurant and just eat and let them take care of you. I really have no reservations about whatsoever about recommending Morton’s. Morton’s has excellent steak, excellent food, and attentive and friendly customer service in an upscale atmosphere. Reservations for dinner are highly recommended. Jax approved!
