The food was great. The service was mediocre. The place was packed. In short, this is a pretty typical Chinese restaurant with good food.
My family and I really enjoyed the salt and pepper fried crab. It was very tasty and the batter had a nice crunch to it although it took be awhile to figure out how to eat it. It’s a lot of work to dig out the crab and peel off the crispy batter and eat it. The soy sauce chicken was very good. I thought the ngo lam bo (stewed beef tendon in broth in a clay pot) was quite tasty.
Overall I enjoyed the food at R & G. I do recommend getting the crab, the soy sauce chicken, and the ngo lam bo. For your own sanity, if possible, you really want to make a reservation. Do not expect attentive service.
