They serve you some edamame to start. We had the Pokemon roll, the Volcano Roll, and the Jumping Eel Roll. Everything was very fresh. I loved the Pokemon and the Jumping Eel Roll. I bit in and the fresh fish almost melted in my mouth. They use high quality fish (as they should).
The Volcano roll was okay but it was a little strange. We ordered it because it had peanut butter in it and sounded interesting. I think peanut butter is best left off sushi. It wasn’t terrible but picture a shrimp with a glob of peanut butter on it and you’ll get the picture. I wouldn’t order the Volcano Roll again.
I also had a good miso soup and the Karaage Chicken (fried chicken). Both were excellent. The Karaage Chicken was just as Japanese fried chicken should be, lightly crispy with a tasty satisfying little crunch.
I do like this hole in the wall and will be here again soon for sure. There was a line so make sure you you get there in advance to put your name down.
