I had the opportunity to visit the Sacramento Arts Festival at the Convention Center this past weekend with my family. It was so much fun. I love just being able to browse through the booths of local artists and vendors. I am very much a patron of the arts and I just loved being able to see people’s creations. By attending the Sacramento Arts Festival, you actually feel like you are a part of something.
By the way, they do sell food there. So I’d just plan to grab your family and go and make a day of it. Trust me, you will find plenty to do, plenty to buy, and plenty to eat!
Some of My Favorite Booths
Patriotic Paintings by David Schwartz David Schwartz
I really like the patriotic nature and bright colors of David Schwartz’s paintings. Look at how bright the colors are. It’s Americana at it’s best. The painting of the Golden Gate Bridge is my favorite. I might have to contact him and go buy this one.
Cathy McClelland
Cathy McClellan’s paintings really spoke to me. Because most of them had a night time theme to theme, these were not your typical paintings. Yet, you wouldn’t expect night time paintings to have the the colors be so bright and vivid. Many of the paintings seemed as if they had come from a dream.
Jane’s Rustic Ranch Soap
Jane’s Rustic Ranch Soap had an awesome booth. If you know me, you know I love buying handmade soaps and lotions. I can’t help myself. I absolutely love the scents of the soaps and the texture of the lotions and lip balms. She really makes high quality products.
Bengston Woodworks
Bengston Woodworks had all this bright lights attached to wood. The pieces were so unique. Honestly, I’ve never seen anything like them. It actually looked like some sort of science experiment. I’ve always liked bright and shiny lights (really, I entertain my kids at home with glowsticks on a regular basis=).
The Food
There was plenty of food at the Sacramento Arts Festival. However, I believe my favorites were these two. I recommend the Beef or Chicken Gyros from Spyros Gyros Greek Food and the Samosas from India Gourmet.
Check It Out
Overall, my family and I had a great time at the Sacramento Arts Festival. Furthermore, I got some awesome products, got to check out local artists and businesses, and really had a good day out with my family supporting the arts. I really highly recommend you check out the Sacramento Arts Festival next year!
