My husband and I are foodies and this place did not meet our expectations.
We went here for a friend’s birthday. It’s in West Sac and the ambiance is kinda cool. I was pretty excited when I saw the menu.
We ordered the Beef Short Ribs marinated in root beer and the Eatery Steak (Grilled Ribeye Cap Steak). So the steak was just okay, but nothing special. The Beef Short Ribs were a bit sweet, probably from the root beer. If you want good Beef Short Ribs check out Pocket Bistro in Greenhaven! Another guy at our table ordered the Ribeye Steak medium rare and his was totally well done. He had to send it back! Also, the Pork T Bone was weird. They served it with strawberries of all fruit. I would understand serving it with apples or maybe peaches. But serving it with strawberries seems odd. My friend who got the Pork Chop didn’t like it with strawberries and said it was overcooked. I had a forkful of the mac and cheese. To be fair, my husband makes a really good mac and cheese with bacon so its hard to compare but this mac and cheese just wasn’t very cheese or tasty.
The food just wasn’t up to standard. It didn’t meet or exceed our expectations and we were honestly disappointed with the food itself. I will say that the customer service was excellent. I have no complaints about our waitress or the customer service. If you’re the owner reading this, you really need to work on refining your menu a little and doing quality checks to make sure the food is spot on. Don’t make the Short Ribs so sweet. Serve something other than strawberries with the Pork Chop and make sure it isn’t over cooked. Make sure the steaks are done right.
This place has potential. I probably won’t be back here for a long time. But I’d be willing to give this place another shot in a year or two.
