The catfish fritters were good but very small. They were a little bit crunchy and served with a perfectly poached egg. The gnocchi was good and served with some sort of pork belly. I liked the chewy texture. The pork belly was tasty but rather fatty. The steak had a great flavor but was tough to chew. I did like the spinach and the sweet potato fries they were served with. We also had the chocolate souffle and the cranberry bread pudding. Both were delicious! My husband and I were also impressed with their beer and wine selection. I had a really good moscato.
I was a little cold because the heat lamp kept going off and we were sitting on the patio. Also, they do not have adequate knives here that can cut anything. We tried some of our friend’s pizza and the steak knife I was using would not cut through the pizza. The pizza itself tasted fine. It was about what you would expect. I would say I liked it.
All in all, this is a good little hole in the wall in Sacramento. They don’t take reservations so this might not be the best place for really large groups. It would be a great date restaurant. I know I’ll be back here. I just hope the heat lamps work next time =)
