I still can’t believe the Summer is over! We launched into Fall with a vengeance and with a hectic schedule pretty typical of our family. We booked a last minute flight to Toronto to pay our respects to a family member. While it was expected, it was still a bit hard to take. This caused us to re-evaluate what is important in our lives. (More on this later.) Dealing with death is always a challenge and it is always eye opening. While in Toronto, I managed to see some of my side of the family as well. My Dad’s siblings are all in Toronto so I got a chance to meet up with some of them while I was there. Roxy got a chance to meet her great-grandmother, great-aunts, great-uncles, and uncles. I’m just so glad that Roxy could meet her 95 year old great-grandmother while she is still with us. It was such a beautiful moment! I know that my grandma won’t be with us forever so I will always cherish the picture we took that day. Roxy still has a lot of family she has yet to meet but we’re making some progress there. It was so good to see everyone in Toronto!
We also went to several parties and showers, including the baby shower of our good friends Stephen & Sou-Wah Ng. Stephen, as many of you know, was our wedding photographer and our friend long before that. So it was awesome to celebrate the impending arrival with the Ng family. Congratulations again Stephen & Sou-Wah! We love you guys!
Roxy is still at home with me. Brookfield Pre-school hasn’t started yet because the new campus is still under construction. We’ve been told that hopefully it will open in November. Meanwhile, Roxy is enjoying her play dates with our good friends, plenty of trips to the park, and of course being spoiled by my parents. My parents really seem to get a kick out of Roxy. You should see their faces change when she walks in. Lol, she also knows not to go to Mommy for candy but to go to Gung Gung! We’ve been pondering Roxy’s Halloween costume. She loves singing Let It Go even though she can’t even sit still long enough to watch Frozen all the way through. So we’ll probably go with an Elsa or a princess costume. But Roxy will get loads of candy no matter what costume she wears. She’s really good at schmoozing!
I’d like to ask for prayer as our family is dealing with several huge decisions which really impact the way we live. I’ve been pulling back a bit from some of my commitments because Kenny and I have been little burnt out and have decided to prioritize what is important. This means big changes in the way we do everyday things. I think of it as Fall house cleaning, only we’re really cleaning our lives. I’d also like to ask prayer for a dear friend of mine who is having health issues. I hope you all are enjoying the beginning of Fall and everything this season brings. May God bless you all this week!
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under the heaven.
