I was tickled to death when Roxy came home today with her 1st school pictures. We’re really happy with how they turned out. Honestly, I don’t think they could have turned out better!
My baby girl is growing up so fast. I was looking at a video from about a year ago and I realized that at this time last year, we were still speaking a lot of Mandarin to Roxy. Roxy speaks so much English now and is very verbal. You would not believe some of the funny conversations we have.
Roxy: I sad Mama
Me: I’m sorry honey. Mama po po (Mama will hold you). Why are you sad?
Roxy: (Sitting in my lap) No more chocolate!
Me: (chuckling) Oh, Roxy, did you eat Mama’s chocolate again? (I keep emergency chocolate in various places. I keep hiding it but Roxy keeps finding it.)
Roxy: Yeah but no more.
Me: How about we find some more after lunch.
Roxy: Ok. Promise?
Me: Yup
Roxy: Fist bump!
*Love my little girl!*
I know I had to have done something right in this life. Why? Because God sent us this amazing, beautiful, smart, healthy, friendly, feisty little girl that calls us Mama and Baba. I wouldn’t trade Roxy for all the money in the world. If you had asked me in 2010 where I thought I would be now, I would have given you a different answer. I probably would have thought that I’d be working in management at the Network for Healthy California still or in some sort of public health position. Kenny and I had known that we were going to adopt a child but we had NO CLUE that we would adopt our FIRST CHILD. But see, God had other plans. God sent us the right child for us when the time was right. So I don’t know what the future holds or what God has in store. But I know God has good things in store for our family and I’m content with what I have now. Kenny and I are blessed with a wonderful daughter who we love to pieces and I love every second of our hectic, crazy, beautiful life.
I send you all love and blessings.
XOXO Jax
