This is just a quick post to say Merry Christmas from Hong Kong! Roxy just met her great-grandmother and we’re enjoying tons of food and shopping. We’re spending most of our time in Causeway Bay on the Hong Kong side. We did take a touristy jaunt to Temple Street with our friends from back home who just happened to be in HK.
I was ecstatic that we got to go to Crystal Jade. If you haven’t heard of them, they are well known for their fabulous xiao long bao. No matter where I go in Cali, no place can seem to compare to this xiao long bao. I’ve been craving good xiao long bao for ages. If you go to Hong Kong, be sure to check out Crystal Jade!
We used to come to Hong Kong every single Christmas while I was growing up. In fact, I have spent the majority of my Christmases in Hong Kong and can count on one hand the number of Christmases I have actually spent in the United States. Although the majority of people in Hong Kong don’t understand the true meaning of Christmas (Christ’s birth), it’s quiet a commercialized holiday here. If you haven’t done shopping in Hong Kong before, it’s awesome and overwhelming at the same time. There’s also a fabulous display of lights on the buildings and when you look across the harbor you can see the colorful decorations. I can’t wait to see Roxy’s face when she sees them.
Unfortunately we didn’t bring a laptop to HK and our hotel doesn’t have free wi-fi in our room (we’re so spoiled by our wi-fi back in the States). However, I am posting what I can from my iPhone using the free wi-fi in the lobby. Lol, do I have skills or what?! We are thinking of our friends and family back in Cali. Thank you for being a part of our lives. We love you guys!
I hope that you are all having a wonderful holiday season. May God bless you and Merry Christmas to you all!
XOXO Jax
