We had a great 4th of July with family and some close friends. We decided not to have one of our big blowout parties and just had a small bbq. Since we don’t have a pool we purchased a blow up wading pool for Roxy. We also got a lot of fireworks, sparklers, and blue and white glow sticks. We stuffed ourselves silly with ribeye, chicken, hot dogs, potato casserole, bruchetta, and then my parents showed up with pièce de résistance, 2 LIVE LOBSTERS. After a lively discussion about how to kill the lobsters, they were taken care of, put on the grill and quickly scarfed down.
I loved seeing Roxy romp in the water. I wasn’t expecting her to be so aquatic but she LOVES THE WATER. She also loved watching fireworks and would squeal and scream with delight whenever one would go off. She also loved playing with glowsticks. Kenny and I had fun giving her light shows and showing her how to make figure eights with glow sticks. A year ago, I hadn’t even seen Roxy’s picture yet. And now she is the light of our lives. We can barely remember what life was like before Roxy.
We had a lot to celebrate this 4th of July. We have Roxy and Roxy is now a U.S. citizen! I’m thanking God for all the blessings God has bestowed on all of us. I hope you all had a happy and safe 4th of July!
XOXO Jax
