We just re-adopted Roxy in the State of California! Today is a good day and I’m so grateful to God for answering our prayers. Although Roxy was legally adopted from China, this was the fastest way for us to get her a valid birth certificate. Don’t ask me how or why but somehow it is possible to legally adopt a child from China, get them an official adoption decree, a U.S. Certificate of Citizenship, a U.S. passport, and a Social Security number and card, but not have a valid birth certificate. This is really something that they need to work out. It seems to me that getting a valid birth certificate should be a part of the adoption process.
Props to Nicholas Maloof, Attorney at Law from Maloof Law Group for helping us push this California adoption through. I am overwhelmed by all that God has done in our family lately. I’m just so grateful that this was able to happen and that Roxy’s valid birth certificate issued by the State of California, listing her date of birth, her birth place of Wuhan, China, and us as parents is coming in the mail.
To all of you adoptive parents out there who have internationally adopted, I do have plenty of information about how to get a valid birth certificate, although it varies slightly from state to state. Please feel free to contact me using the link on the side.
I hope you are all having a blessed week!
XOXO Jax
