Hainanese chicken with garlic, ginger, scallion dipping oil and Russian borscht soup
This place is just okay. The food was mediocre. The service wasn’t bad but could have been more attentive.
I had the special which was Hainanese chicken. The chicken was served ice cold as was the ginger, garlic, scallion dipping oil that accompanied it. I had to ask for both to be warmed up as they were just unappetizing ice cold. Once they were both warmed up, the food was edible, although it was nothing special. The Russian borscht soup was good. I also had a perfectly good mango slushy with rainbow jelly.
I would say that this is a reasonable place and about what you’d expect. The food is acceptable and neither great nor terrible.
To the owner, I would really try not to serve ice cold chicken. I understand that Hainanese chicken can be served at room temperature but it shouldn’t be ice cold like that and neither should the scallion, ginger, garlic dipping sauce. You should tell your employees to be a little more attentive to their customers.
I would like to try the desserts the next time I come here. I will give this place another shot but probably not in the immediate future.
