A Roxy Update

So I know you guys have been wondering what Roxy has been up to lately. She has been doing a lot. She loves riding on her Plasmacar scooter, playing with her friends, dancing to music, blowing bubbles, and going down the slide and on the swings at the park. We have a lot of play dates with the children of our good friends. It’s great because Roxy can interact with kids her own age and we also noticed she learns a lot from them too. For example, if she sees someone sitting on the potty, she suddenly wants to go. =) We enrolled her in a toddler gym called MyGym which she loves. They basically have all this gym equipment for the kids to play on and have free play and structured play time.
We have been teaching Roxy to interact with people in our lives and she is responding well. For example, any of our female friends that are close to my age or older are called Yi-yi (Chinese for Auntie). Any male friends that are close to Kenny’s age or older are called Sook-sook (Chinese for Uncle). We tell her that her little friends are her peng you (friend in Chinese).
Potty training is going well. Roxy isn’t fully potty trained yet but she will go on the potty when she is at home about 75% of the time. When we’re out, it’s difficult because public places don’t have kiddie toilet seats and she won’t always sit on a public toilet (I don’t force her).
It’s hard to believe that we have been home for 2 months now. I’m still kinda waiting the honeymoon phase to pass but right now, I’m feeling happy and blessed. As we continue to adjust and Roxy continues to learn and grow, I’m just looking forward to being right there when things happen. Wherever Roxy is or whatever she does, I know it will be entertaining!
