Crab City – Sacramento, CA – Grand Opening Weds May 28!
You heard it here 1st! Crab City is BETTER than Thanh Long in SF!! Crab City just opened and we got a chance to try out the food at the Soft Opening. Crab City has crabs, lobster, clams, oysters, mussels, crawfish, and also plenty of desserts like mango snow. There were so many choices that I had a seriously hard time deciding what to get. Check out the menu. We winded up ordering the roasted garlic crab, garlic noodles with prawns, and crab cakes. OMG! The garlic sauce on the crab was so tasty, I kept licking it off of my fingers. The garlic noodles had wonderful little bits of crunchy fried garlic and green onion in them and the prawns were a little bit crunchy. I really could have some of this every single day and not get tired of it. The crab cakes were tasty and they were a pretty good size as well. Usually when I order crab cakes, I always think they are too small. These crab cakes were crunchy, dense, drool inducing, and satisfying. Roxy kept asking for more of everything. It was the 1st time she has ever tried crab (I think) and she LOVED it!
I know Thanh Long in San Francisco is well known for their roasted crab and garlic noodles. I’ve been there recently. But I’ve gotta say, Crab City in Sac blows Thanh Long out of the water in terms of both the food and the price! If you don’t believe me, just go try the food and then come talk to me! I think Sac has needed a place like this for awhile. We plan on going back soon to have some more crab and garlic noodles and also try the lobster, oysters, clams, and the dessert. Stay tuned for an update! And in the mean time check out the Grand Opening of Crab City on Wednesday May 28th. Hours: Weekdays 3-10 pm and open at 12 pm on the weekends. 7837 Stockton Blvd, Suite 500, Sacramento, CA 95823.
**UPDATE**
So I went back with my family. We ordered the roasted crab again, the garlic noodles with prawns, the crab cakes, and then added in a Big City Combo with City Combo Flavor (melting pot of flavors)with lobster, snow crab, clams, mussels, corn, and sausage. Everything was good. There was a sizable lobster tail in the combo so we were really happy with that. The melting pot of flavors was just that. It was a little bit spicy but the sauce was off the hook! The food came out really fast, much faster than the soft opening. We had a great experience and my parents LOVED the food as well.
Hint: If you like crunchy burnt garlic in your garlic noodles, ask them to make it that way! It’s a matter of personal preference but that’s how I like my garlic noodles. Also, if you only have 2 people in your party, I’d go for something like the Big City Combo and an order of garlic noodles with prawns.
