Emma Watson’s Inspiring Speech to the U.N. About Feminism
Everyone needs to see this video. I love how Emma doesn’t just call upon women to fight for gender equality. She calls upon men and boys as well. It’s so refreshing to see an actress and a public figure using her influence to do something for the greater good. When I see all of Emma’s fellow actresses and actors getting DUIs and being ruined by fame, I can applaud the efforts of a young woman who always strives to become a better version of herself and to leave the world a little better than she found it.
I spent many years fighting against the glass ceiling at work. This is also one of the reasons why I started my own company. I make less money but I work on my terms.
The more I’ve spoken about feminism, the more I have realized that fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with man hating. If there is one thing I know for certain it is that this has to stop. Feminism by definition is the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes.
