Update: San Diego 2015
We took an awesome trip to San Diego in May with family. It was nostalgic for me because I actually used to live in San Diego. I went to college at UC San Diego and spent a wonderful 6 years living in San Diego. I remember that my life was more carefree and that I liked the pace of life in San Diego.
Some highlights of our trip included trips to Legoland, The San Diego Zoo, and SeaWorld and catching up with some friends. Legoland is really a great place to take small children. I highly recommend it! At 37 inches, Roxy could go on many rides and she really had a blast. She went on her first adult roller coaster and loved it. Legoland is perfect for kids ages 3 to 7 I think. The SD Zoo was good. We all really enjoyed the seeing a live panda who was awake and eating and we were excited that we could take a picture with it. It was a bit rainy the day we went to SeaWorld but we enjoyed the Shamu show, the Sea Lion Show, and the Dolphin show. Roxy also got to pet a live stingray.
No trip to San Diego would be complete without a trip to the cliffs by UC San Diego. It’s really one of my favorite spots in the world. It’s mostly locals and college students who go there. But it’s just amazing. You stand on the cliffs and stare out at the ocean and you just feel free. I used to go there when I lived in San Diego to chill out, to think, to pray, and really just to be. To get to the cliffs by UC San Diego google directions to University Lutheran Church 9595 La Jolla Shores Dr. Basic directions: Take Torrey Pines, L at La Jolla Shores, R on La Jolla Farms Drive. Park when you see a gate on your left and walk past the gate that says Scripps Coastal Reserve. You won’t be sorry if you go. The view is worth it! Just make sure to wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. =)
