I can’t believe my baby girl is now 1 month old! So here’s an update for all the Carissa fans out there. Carissa is doing pretty well and is slowly gaining weight. She is now 4lbs 10oz (she lost some weight after birth) and we are hopeful she will reach 5lbs soon. So far she loves her white noise machine and being in her swing and bouncer. Roxy is also adjusting well and is very protective of her baby sister. My husband Kenny and I would like to say thank you to all of you for your messages of support and especially to all of you who stepped forward to get us some preemie clothes and things we needed!
I am still slowly recovering from child birth. I was hurting a lot after my epidural wore off right after the birth and it was a bit difficult for me for the first 2 weeks. While I have not yet fully recovered, I am definitely doing much better. Thank God for my husband who bought me a donut to sit on and who has been incredible in terms of taking care of our girls and making sure that I’m comfortable.
This may be TMI, but I have some definite suggestions for any of you who give birth or plan to give birth vaginally. Do go for the epidural and take the norco and ibuprofen they offer you. You won’t win any medals for not doing the epidural. Bring home from the hospital as much of the Tuck’s cooling pads and the Dermoplast spray as possible. Have some Tuck’s cooling pads, Dermoplast spray, maxi pads for a heavy period, and a medical donut to sit on waiting for you at home when you get home from the hospital. The medical donut relieves pressure on your vagina. The cooling pads quite simply are heaven after the bleeding, painful sensations, and itching you will experience. You basically experience massive bleeding and pain while your vagina and stitches heal and then it progresses to massive itching and discomfort. But by obtaining or purchasing all of the aforementioned items, it will make your healing process go much smoother and it will help to alleviate your pain.
Thank you to all of you who have sent your good wishes regarding Carissa’s birth and my recovery. I really feel very blessed. Please continue to pray for Carissa to gain some weight and for my physical recovery.
May God bless all of your and your families.
XOXO Jax
