I finally have the time to do a family update. We are doing well and time is flying by! My girls just keep getting bigger! Roxy is 4 and in Kindergarten. Carissa just turned 8 months. Roxy had a growth spurt recently. I got a clue when she got to wear jeans and a Merryhill t-shirt for a field trip and she came back singing praises of Apple Hill and complaining about how tight her jeans were. I checked and yup, they they were tight. In fact I ran right out to Kohl’s to get her some new jeans the next day. Carissa just keeps growing as well. She started officially crawling a few weeks ago. It started out just like an arm length or two. But now she crawls everywhere. In fact, recently when I left her sleeping in the living room when I ran to the bathroom, she came crawling and looking for me. I was hurrying because I wanted to get back to Carissa. Imagine my surprise when I saw that Carissa had crawled from the living room all the way to the bathroom. She had come to find me!
Roxy is doing very well in school. She’s starting to read! When we read books to her now she points out words. We had a parent teacher conference with her teacher and saw her progress report. It took me a little bit to understand the grading system for Kindergarten. E = Excellent, G = Good, S = Satisfactory, U = Unsatisfactory. Roxy got almost all Es with a G in Spanish. I pointed out to her teacher though that Spanish is the 5th language that Roxy has been exposed to. She came to us speaking Mandarin and Wuhan dialect. Our family speaks Cantonese so she picked up Cantonese. So right now Roxy speaks mostly English with occasional Mandarin or Cantonese phrases. So basically Roxy just needs to work a bit on her Spanish and on her handwriting. She has a pretty good amount of homework for a Kindergartener. She even has a spelling test and site words every week. We are very proud of her progress.
I’ve been pretty busy recently. I have a several great new partnerships that I’m really excited about. Also, in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve stepped up the prize giveaways for Jax Chronicles. I just feel that some giveaways really make things interesting and allow me to connect to others in a fun way. I’ve been meeting some new people and it’s great. I like meeting other influencers in Sacramento. Basically, they are other bloggers, artists, foodies, fashionistas, business owners, and other people with a drive to share their passions with the world and lift other people up.
Kenny and I have been praying about something recently and it’s been on my heart lately. I will tell you all in good time. It’s all good stuff. Please pray for Kenny and I to make the right decisions regarding our family. I don’t know exactly what is going to happen or how everything will turn out. But I know that God is speaking to us. We just need to figure out exactly what He wants us to do.
I hope all of you and your families are enjoying the beginning of Fall. May all of you be blessed!
XOXO Jax
